SANKTA LUCIA
Saint Lucia was an Italian girl who lived in Sicily
in the late 3rd and early 4th century.
She converted to the Christian religion, which was
then forbidden in Sicily.
As a punishment she was sentenced to death.
The candles around Lucia's head are there to tell
that they couldn't make her burn - the fire went out.

This year your friends in our 5th classes will sing for our school.

We of course have Christmas trees, a tradition
that comes from Germany.
Some have trees from the forest, some use plastic
trees.
Some even have pink plastic trees, but I prefer the real stuff.

We get our Christmas gifts on the 24th December.
The children may get a gift or two in the morning, but
the rest are usually given out later in the day.
Some like to write rhymes on the gifts, for the reciever
to guess what's inside.
