This is your traveling day to Finland, Lieksa
Transport by a bus from the Airport of Joensuu at 17.15. Swedish, Hungarian,
Italian and Belgium teams (22 visitors) are coming at that time and the cost of
the bus from Joensuu to Lieksa is about 15 €/person. Host families are coming
to take pupils to their homes at 19.00. Poland team is coming on the 25th
of Sep 00.35 to Joensuu. Taxi costs about 150-180 €.

9.15 A bus is coming to take you from the hotel to the Jamali
Primary School (it costs 40 €:12=3,35 €/adult). Pupils
are coming to school at 8. They come by taxi, by bus or
host families are taking them to the school. Bus and taxi
cost some euros/day. You have to give some money to
your pupils for the transport. It`s every day the same
thing (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday)
9.45 - 10.30 Welcome Party at Jamali Primary School
10.30 -11.15 Lunch (free)
11.15 - 12.00 Mini lessons ( Belgium to the pre school – 2nd class,
Hungary to the 3rd-4thclass and Italy to the 5th -6th class.
Sweden and Poland are free.)
12.00 -12.15 Coffee/tee break (free)
12.15– 13.00 Mini lessons (Sweden to the 3rd-4th
class and Poland to the 5th-6th
class. Belgium, Hungary and Italy can follow
the pre school - 2ndclass lesson)
13.00 Pupils are going to their homes and host homes
13.00-15.00 Comenius meeting at school (Mervi tells about Jamali
Primary School etc, Agneta tells about Cmenius project)
15.00 Transport by techers cars to The Blue Cafe
15.30-16.30 Dinner at The Blue Cafe ( I don`t know yet the cost)
17.00-17.30 Resting at Puustelli Hotel and changing sport clothes for the boat trip
17.30 Transport by teachers cars from the hotel to the harbour of Lieksa
18.00-19.30 Rowing in the church boats on the river of Lieksa (free)

7.40 A bus is coming to take you from the hotel to Ruunaa. All
Comenius and Jamali Primary School pupils, headmasters
and teachers are in that trip (if somebody can`t come for
some reason, please inform Mervi about it)
8.25 -12.00 Traditional Rafting with Wooden Boats on the River of
Ruunaa (www.lieksanmatkakaveri.fi) 40 €/adult,
32 €/pupil. We all get raincoats and rubber boots from
the lady, Rauni Hietanen, who arrange this trip
12.15 A bus is taking visitors back to the Hotel Puustelli, pupils
to Jamali School. Pupils are going to their host families.
13.00– 14.00 Resting time at the Hotel Puustelli (take the swimming
equipment with you)
14.00 Transport by teachers cars to the Museum
14.15– 15.45 The Pielinen Museum (www.lieksa.fi/museo) 10 €/adult
16.00-17.00 Coffee break at the Bakery of Lieksa ( some € )
18.00 – 19.45 The Swimming Hall of Lieksa (sauna, water jogging,

What the students benefited from the Comenius-project
They learned new games, songs, dances and stories. They got to know people from other countries and their cultures. They got new penfriends. They practiced to travel abroad. They got to know different languages. They practised English language in real situations and noticed that it`s very important to study languages. They learned about geography, nature, way of life, school system and other major issues of the partner countries. The project prevented prejudices. The students become international.
