Finnish tale No.2. (house, two flowers)
Once upon a time, lived a lumberjack family. They have already planned to build an own house. They collected the wood and started to build it. But in vain, because they weren’t good at building a house. The house was almost fully ready, when they noticed that the house didn’t have windows and doors. Therefore the family thougth they would cut a place for the window and the door.
Well, they measured the place of the door incorrectly and it wasn’t in balance. One side was more, the other side was less. They were sawing the walls as long as the house collapsed. The whole family cried and they were very sad, their work turned into waste.
What could they do? They went to a family-helper home to live there. The mother was crying and she was very sad. The dad just walked up and down and the children were sadly thinking about what they did wrong. They were thinking and they had an idea. For the next time they won’t forget the place of the window and the door.
They felt badly in the family-helper home so they wanted an own house.
Day by day they colledted more beams and a year later they decided to start building a little wooden house again. Firstly, they thought and planned the housebuilding steps. They worked hard and every day they came tired. But this time they didn’t forget to plan the place of the window and the door. They measured the width and length of the door and the window and they cut the beams the same as the width and the length. They put them in their place.
The house was build during a few months. They were very happy and blessed the God who made them able to build the wooden house. They were very exhausted, but it was worth the efforts, because they could sleep in their own house. They decided to tell everyone how to build a house to avoid that other people do the same as they did.
They lived happily ever after.
