ISTITUTO COMPRENSIVO "San Giovanni Bosco-Francesca De Carolis"
“Francesca de Carolis"School, is part of the”Istituto Comprensivo San Giovanni Bosco-
Francesca de Carolis”.It is situated in San Marco in Lamis,a small town(about
13000 inhabitants) in the south-east of Italy in the Gargano National

There are 900 pupils aged from 3 to 14, and 80 teachers in our school.
Students can choose two different school timetables:they can have 30 or 36 hours a week(in this
case, on Tuesday and Friday afternoon; they come back to school and have three
more periods to improve their Italian and Maths knowledge)
Our students as well as performing curricular activities provided by the National Guidelines(
Italian,Mathematics,History,Geography,Science,Physical
Education,Art,Music,Religion,ITC,English,French),participate,in extraschool
hours, in activities that the school proposes as an extention
of.studies.
The activities are carried out both in classes and in different laboratories:computer
room,science,language,music art laboratories and gym.
Since 2007,our school is involved in"PON"(National Operational Programmes)financed by European
funds and aimed at supporting and strengthening the basic skills of both pupils and teachers.
(This is the first time our school has applied for a Comenius Project. That is why
everybody at school, from the staff to the students,is very excited and eager.
By this project our students will be able, thanks to our suitcases,to know a lot about their European
friends and to compare our different cultures. They will improve their languages
knowledge and their use of technology. Some of them, furthermore, will have the
chance to go abroad: everyone will be able to make close relationship.)
At Christmas time our students perform the “Living Crib” in the old part of the town.
